Readings for Thursday Easter 4

Magnet by Wayne Chisnall

Deliver me…from men of the world whose portion is in this life.  You fill their womb with treasure; they are satisfied with children, and they leave their abundance to their infants.  As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; whenI awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness.  Psalm 17:13-15

Men of the world have figured out the system.  They leave their mark in stuff and children but their lives can’t be all that great since their inheritance is left to infants.  Short-lived and unenjoyed is the verdict for men of the world.  Only a life lived knowing that there is something and someone beyond this existence is worth living.  Living life according to what God says is right reveals God both to yourself and to others.  That’s what helps the world.  A hoarder and a whorer will only leave horror, emptiness and division behind.  A righteous person makes the life of others better because they aren’t self-centered.  A righteous person find satisfaction not in stuff but in the life lived in His likeness; a full, world-impacting, God-given life.
