Readings for Wednesday Easter-4

“the testimony of the Lord is pure, making wise the simple”  Psalm 19:7

Simple, what matches that description anymore?  Everything is complicated and full of details and at the top of a learning curve.  When you see how Jesus uses it I don’t think that wise necessarily can’t live with simple.  Jesus sends out 72 disciples today with simple instructions, simple gear and a simple message “the kingdom of God is near.”  They cast out demons with one simple name, “Jesus.”  They didn’t know that much but that was enough to prepare them for ministry.  Jesus liked to keep it simple, making them razor sharp in their focus on announcing the kingdom in the one singular powerful name of Jesus.
