Readings for January 29th

“Thus says the Lord of hosts: In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.'”  Zechariah 8:23

Another example of God’s intention for Israel.  This may very well have come true but I wonder if the response was, go back to your home country (like Naomi to Ruth).  The message that God is with you had to get out somehow, somebody had to speak, somebody had to make known the deeds of a God who is steadfast and good!  Imagine having that trouble on the way to work with ten people asking for a ride to go with you because they have heard the God is with you?!
